Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to present Gesture, Perception, Identity, a three-person exhibition featuring Denise Adler, Lauralee Franco, and Eva March, on view from June 4 through June 14, 2026, at 511 West 25th Street in New York.
The exhibition explores painting as more than representation. Through three distinct visual languages, Adler, Franco, and March approach the canvas as a space of instinct, memory, perception, and emotional discovery.
Denise Adler creates layered dreamscapes where painting, collage, photography, and drawing come together like fragments of memory. Her work moves between mythology, personal narrative, and symbolic imagery, forming shifting visual worlds where identity appears to be constantly rewritten.
Lauralee Franco engages with the legacy of Abstract Expressionism while shaping it through her own vision. Her paintings carry the force of gesture through energetic marks, eruptions, and suspended forms, creating works that feel both cosmic and deeply personal.
Eva March brings together figuration and abstraction through vivid color and spontaneous gesture. Her paintings are driven by instinct, emotion, and the unconscious, allowing symbolic forms to emerge through the movement and turbulence of paint.
Together, the three artists present painting as an unstable mirror: one that reveals emotional traces, psychic landscapes, and the invisible structures beneath perception. Gesture, Perception, Identity proposes identity not as something fixed, but as something fluid, fractured, and alive.
