Terms and Conditions
ELIGIBILITY
Our calls for the ABG Artist Residency Award are open to artists from all over the world. Artists must be 18 years old or older.
Media Accepted:
Painting, sculpture, installation, net art, video, mixed media, design, light art, new media art, comics, drawing, collage, pottery, digital art, printmaking, photography, and sound installation.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
Fill out the application form HERE.
- Fill in your personal info (name, last name, where you are based, etc).
- Fill our the information about your art (how long ago have you started making art, what media you use, artist statement, website/instagram handles, etc).
- Upload up to 4 images of your art. Every picture must be max 1MB in .jpg, .tiff, .pdf.
- By applying by December 18th, 2023 there is a $50.00 (not refundable) Application fee + a $2.50 Credit Card fee is required.
- By applying by January 15th, 2024 there is a $90.00 (not refundable) Application fee + a $1.90 Credit Card fee is required.
SUBMISSION TIMELINE and ADMISSION
The EARLY BIRD DEADLINE to apply is December 18th, 2023.
Applying by this date means artists have to pay the Early Bird Application fee ($50.00) + the Credit Card fee ($2.50). Both fees are non refundable.
The REGULAR DEADLINE to apply is January 15th, 2024.
Applying by this date means artists have to pay the Regular Application fee ($90.00) + the Credit Card fee ($1.90). Both fees are non refundable.
Our Curatorial Board will evaluate the artworks based on three criteria:
- Aesthetic quality of work submitted;
- Demonstrable artistic practice;
- Meaningful connection with the Zeitgeist of the present.
The final results will be communicated on January 22nd, 2024.
COPYRIGHT
By submitting your artwork you are licensing Alessandro Berni Gallery to use any work or captured images for future events, the website, promotion or other purposes.
You still retain rights to your work. All work will be credited where applicable. Any attempt by a participant to influence the result or subvert the competition will lead to immediate disqualification.
All entries must contain copyright-free material or material released with consent from the original source. Unauthorized use of any copyrighted images, text, or other material will not be accepted.
PRODUCTION OF WORKS & OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected Artist will be responsible for the cost of producing, transporting and insuring the works.
The selected Artist must leave the space of the residency in the same conditions that the Artist found when walking in for the first time. To make sure these requirements are met, a cautionary and refundable amount of $500 must be deposited prior the beginning of the residency. This will only be used in case the agreement is not met.
TERMS OF USE
You agree that you must obtain insurance coverage for damage to or loss of any article at the show due to any reason, including fire, theft, burglary, breakage, leakage and water damage, or transport to or from the show grounds. In any event, you assume all risk of loss or damage to any of its Articles.
Alessandro Berni Gallery will not be liable to you for any direct, incidental or consequential damages or loss to you, to your property or Articles arising in any way from or connected with your participation.

All financial agreements between Artist and Alessandro Berni Gallery are solely between Artist and Alessandro Berni Gallery and considered confidential. Any Breach of confidentiality will result in legal action.
Each artist, any artworks and any exhibit material to be included in the exhibition requires written approval from our curatorial board.
Please only submit original content. Your submission must be your own work and not infringe any copyright, trademark or intellectual property. Submissions must not be obscene, have any illegal content or include any false or inaccurate information about yourself, your work or other individuals. Submissions must not contain any viruses, trojan horses, worms or anything that are intended to damage any system, data or personal information. All images are copyrighted and owned by the artist. By submitting your work to Alessandrobernigallery.com, you agree to let Alessandrobernigallery.com publish, edit, use, modify or refuse the submission. You also give permission for your name to be used in connection with the artwork. Student/Faculty/Group Special Rebate could be applied.
Artists may not use Organizer’s logo or branding on any printed matter without prior written approval from Organizer.
